In collaboration with Margeaux Gould, this version of an urban commune focuses on mass, and how it can be read as either subtractive or additive, depending on the perspective. There are two types of space inside. The public space is smooth, cool, and minimal while the private space is textured, warm, and ornamented. These private spaces are 'inside' the mass, and through revealing construction they convey the feeling of being inside a hollow mass. The transition between the spaces happens at the base of the staircase in the living room, and was studied through both models and drawings.
