This project aims to create a welcoming hostel in an underserved Pittsburgh community. Located on Spring Garden Street in Troy Hill, the hostel occupies the space inside and adjacent to the brick shell of an abandoned warehouse. The space opens itself up to the community, while also providing spaces for interaction between guests at the hostel. By using the arches and brickwork that mimics the style found on the original shell, the spaces can feel like extensions of the old walls.
